the brief

Develop and evaluate a functional prototype employing user experience (UX) design principles. Interactive prototypes offer a dynamic user experience for valuable client feedback before finalizing the design for production.

the solution

The San Fransokyo Transportation Center App is a brand extension of my icon set. The idea is inspired by the movie Big Hero 6 and San Francisco's transportation hub. The app functions as the center's app as a way for travelers to quickly and conveniently purchase bus or train tickets, rent a scooter, or call a taxi. While completely theoretical, I created the app with a clean and light interface, making it easy for the "users" to navigate and look at. Features like an in-app digital card adds ease of use and less in-the-moment stress as travelers do not have to pull out their cards or money to pay for their fares. The San Fransokyo Transportation Center App was created with Figma.

CRAFTING A RIDE

This app marked my first project with UX design. Despite not having prior knowledge of the skillset or Figma, I was determined to learn. Through tutorials, trial and error, I created the initial prototype for a transportation center. I created an engaging and visually appealing app within a three-week timeframe.

To create this app, I did research on what people typically look for in a transportation app. I wanted to implement those findings into my own app. I kept the color palette minimal because I wanted to make sure there was enough visual contrast between all the components.
