the brief
Develop a unified book dust jacket and package design by integrating a hand-stamped pattern. Maintain visual coherence and consistency between the two designs, ensuring a harmonious aesthetic that complements each other seamlessly.

Targeting young adults and avid readers, I created a symbolic dust jacket and candle packaging for the novel These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong.
ROARING TWENTIES
Inspired by the book's setting in the 1920s, I incorporated an art deco design style into the visuals. Utilizing red and white, I symbolized the two main characters within the story.
DESIGN DETAILS
I chose gold and red to evoke the book's era and themes, with Bodega Sans for an art deco feel. A sans-serif typeface was used for readability, with a second sans-serif to highlight the author's name.

I crafted candle packaging tailored to book enthusiasts who enjoy the warm glow of candlelight while reading, elevating their bookish experience. Embracing the reading community's love for candles with their literary adventures, the packaging blends with the book's dust jacket.
